The bricks from a nearby wall are slowly withering away. Some of the houses are gone. New ones were built except for one. An old 2 story house with large glass windows on the second floor and a large wooden door on the first floor but slowly degrading. Vines surround most of the house telling someone who sees it that it hasn't been touched for a very long time.
"My it's been that long..." a voice said while looking at the house.
"This feels so nostalgic..." the man said in his mid twenties wearing a white shirt, a grey jacket, jeans and sneakers.
"10 years is quite long" he said and walked towards the house. The fence crumbled as he held them and some portion were completely destroyed.
"Damn! I'll fix that later." he said and walked towards the big door. He inspected it and slowly turned the door knob and as he turned the door knob it completely separated from the door.
"Looks like I have a lot of rebuilding to do if I want this old house to look like from what it was." he said and tossed the doorknob aside.
Some of the things inside are still intact, stairs, tables the only thing that's starting to rot away is the floor.
He dusted some of the things on a small table and it revealed some old photos. Photos of him and what it seemed like his family.
"It's still here" he said and dusted the remaining frames and put them aside.
He spent the whole day trying to fix things and estimating the cost of repairing the old house. He was at the back of the house that afternoon after he finished removing the weeds, vines and other weeds around exposing a little fountain that had dried up over the years and slowly crumbling.
"This brings back so many memories" he said and sat on a bench. The afternoon sunlight made the color of the area light orange as it peeks from the leaves of the trees around the backyard. Then he realized he hasn't eaten anything the whole day. He went to a nearby convenience store and looked for something to eat. After buying the food he went for a walk near the shore and walked on top of the wall and below are the water breakers. He stopped by a part where it used to be a long seashore and now mostly filled with water breakers.
"A lot has changed here... Still why did I even bother going back? When I know nothing's left for me here..." he said. Picked up a stone and threw it at the sea. But just as he was about to leave a familiar voice called him and when he turned it was someone he knew from 10 years ago. Someone who stayed and waited for him.
"Rhen" she said and approached him.
"It's you..." he said as the girl hugged him and Rhen dropping the plastic bag he's carrying.
